Do you remember that everything had a beginning?
The first words of the Bible tell us:
"In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth."


Heaven and earth will have an ending, too.
God has told us so in the Bible.


One day, Jesus and the disciples were looking at the beautiful Temple in Jerusalem.
They said to Jesus, "Come and see how very beautiful the Temple is!"


The Temple was made of big white stones, trimmed with shining gold.
There were big pillars and high towers.
There were wide porches, with benches where people could sit.

When we close our eyes, we keep them from seeing what they should not look at while we pray.


When we pray, we fold our hands and close our eyes so that we will think only about God, and about what we are saying to God.
We can concentrate only on God.

Friends, God loves us so very much.
God showed His great love by giving His Son Jesus to die for us.
Surely, if God loves us so much, God will always take care of us, won't He?


My friends! The Bible says that God really loves us, and that God will take care of us.
Day and night, every day, all night, God watches over us.


Do you remember king David of the Old Testament?
He was the shepherd boy who became the great king in Israel.
David loved God. And David knew that God loved him.


David wrote many Psalms, which are songs.
Some of them were written in the Bible.
One of his songs is called the Shepherd Psalm.
It it in our Scripture reading in Psalms 23.
When David was just a shepherd boy, he took good care of his sheep.

Are you a good man? Are you a good woman?
Are you a good father or mother?
Are you a good minister? Are you a good  friend?


It's nice to be a good woman or a good man, isn't it?
When you are good, you are happy, you can sing, you can skip and play.
But when you have been naughty, everybody is sad.
Mother is sad, Daddy is sad, your wife is sad, your husband is sad.
God is sad. Happiness is all gone.


Then why aren't you good all the time?
Well, it's hard to be good all the time.
Even grown-ups are not good all the time.


Why is it so hard to be good?


Listen to me!
It is hard because we have sin in our hearts.

You must love one another

"Love one another, even as I have loved you." (John 15:12)

Let me ask you.
Who is the person that you respect more than anyone else?
Who has loved you more than anyone else in your life?
Who is your favorite relative, aunt or uncle, or cousin?
When you were playing a game, did you ever say, "O, me first, me first" ?


Of course, you know that's not nice to say.
Now, why is it not good and nice to say, "Me first?"
The reason is because, when you say, "Me first!" you are being selfish.
You are loving yourself first and the best.


And it is not right.
It is naughty to be selfish and self-centered to love yourself more than others.


My friend!
God says we must love Him first and foremost.

You must be born again

You are glad to be a year older.
Your parents remember when you were born.
They were so happy on your birthday.


Bout did you ever think that you must be born again?
Jesus said so, "You must be born again."


There was a man named Nicodemus, he came to Jesus one night.
He wanted to talk to JEsus about God.
And he wanted to talk to Jesus about God's Kingdom.


Jesus said to Nicodemus,
"No man can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again." Nicodemus thought that was a strange thing to say.
